SUMMARY:INSPIRE Aberdeen Summer School

DESCRIPTION:Funded by the Academy of Medical Sciences, the purpose of this week long summer school is to provide a rare opportunity for medical and dental students who wish to explore a clinical academic career to have a taster of wet laboratory research and get exposed to basic laboratory skills. Students will spend a week in Aberdeen and will gain practical experience in various laboratory techniques that have clinical translation and can be used in diagnostic, and therapeutic medicinal developments. This will provide an ideal preparation for undertaking an intercalated biomedical sciences degree or a future PhD.\n\nThe scheme will be run as a residential course open to Year 1 or 2 students from medical and dental schools across the UK. All participants will be issued with a certificate at the end of the summer school.
